This collection is composed primarily of correspondence, as well as meeting notes, grant proposals, loan agreements, and floor plans. The collection documents the activities of Director of the Otis Art Institute and Deputy Director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, Gurdon Woods from 1977-1980 and incldues correspondence regarding exhibitions development, collections policy, Museum library collections, art sales, and transfer of Hancock Park collections.

Abstract

This file contains information on various grant-funded projects including a mammal collecting expedition to the South Pacific, geo-paleontological studies in Bolivia, archaeological trips to Mohenjo Daro, a bottlenose dolphin study, fungi surveys, a study of the threespine stickleback, an ichthyoplankton survey, botany hall development, and lepidoptera collection studies.
